Name the most influential person in your riding career and why

Clarke Johnstone has had the biggest impact, taking me in and showing me what a professional career consists of and having the biggest impact on my riding. He is so supportive!

Describe your riding history

Due to not having horsey parents I started at a riding school when I was 8. Dabbling in all disciplines from showing, showjumping to dressage and Eventing - all at once… Most of this was on my old pony Apsley Backchat Kid, realising this was unsustainable we chose to focus on Eventing where we both excelled. Producing him myself from 65cm to 3*. While having different horses sold through this time the pony stuck around for 7 years until I found my next step. Game Keeper. While we have only been in partnership since January 2021, we had a successful first half season.

Special highlight(s) in your riding career

Being selected to represent NZ in the NZ Inter-school Eventing team over in Australia on borrowed horses. Individually winning the international challenge.

What are your ambitions?

To compete at the biggest events all over the world. Olympics being the pinnacle.

Have you trained or coached any riders who have had success?

Not yet but looking forward to that in the future!

Special care and management considerations of your horse(s)

It is really important to me that the horses are looking and feeling their best. This is why Prydes is so fantastic. The horses always perform exceptionally on it and there is a huge range of feeds to suit different horses.

Which Pryde’s feeds do you use and why do you like them?

EasiSport is one of my favourite feeds. It is perfect for the slightly hotter horses and anything that is grain or sugar sensitive. For my pony that had showed laminitic signs in the past it was a great option for him too. In conjunction with EasiFibre to use fibre energy which helped him get around the big courses.

EasiGoing is also another favourite. Great for the horses that aren’t super sensitive and you don’t have to feed a huge amount to recognise results. With it being extruded we can be confident that the horses are getting the most out of their feed.

Rebuild: A very effective concentrate, super for top line and condition. It is also great for the use of recovery. After a big event and particularly cross country it helps the mussels to recover quicker, ensuring they are feeling strong going into showjumping.
